Chapter 16: Painting.
I Love To Paint! I Use watercolors. All colors are fascinating, especially pastels and jewel tones. Those are the colors i use most. I most enjoy painting flowers. I have never taken a real art class, yet i've painted hundreds of paintings, they hang all over our apartment...and, I just do it for fun! I get the urge to paint once a month or so. And I grab my brushes and
watercolors... i have a special beloved brush that ive worn the enamel off of the handle of the whole brush. That's when you know you love a paintbrush... when you feel like you can do anything with just that one brush, just that brush and any given color, you could paint anything....anything you can imagine, you can paint. paper is a 2-dimensional surface and I'm not that great at depth or volume... but i paint kind of surreal florals, still lifes, impressionist and symbolist styles. Some paintings come fast, some take all day. Painting is a little bit of luck. You see, I paint from my imagination mostly, so the designs and patters have to be imagined in my mind as I go. I tell stories with paintings. That's where painting is just like poetry. Painting depicts ideas and concepts and stories in paint and ink, whereas writing poetry also depicts ideas and concepts and stories-- except using language, words, the English language. Gliding my brush across a paper or painting leavesor trees or a fish or a lily or a rose or a feather, fill my heart with joy, with life. I feel more alive when I've been painting. It just comes from the canvas of my mind. You could say, I am a "dreamer", because I write poerty daily, draw and paint monthly at the same time. When I am composing a book I fill it with my artwork...and that's an excellent way to show off your paintings, is to sell them in your poetry volumes! Our walls are covered in paintings....Joy is painting. The glide of the brushstroke is like i am a ballerina, gliding like a swan with infinite ease and grace. Its fluidity of movement. It's beauty in color and form. It's really beautiful! You should Try Painting! In JEsus Name,
Amen.
